Day 1: Sapa - Tavan - Seo My Ty

07:30 Meet your expert local guide and driver at your hotel lobby in Sapa town. Take this time for a brief trip briefing, gear check, and to ensure all your luggage for the trek is ready.

08:00 Board our comfort vehicle for a scenic drive heading south, descending along the winding roads that overlook the vast Muong Hoa Valley. Arrive at Ta Van Village—the homeland of the Giay community—where you will lace up your boots and officially begin your trekking expedition.

12:00 The morning session features a steady, challenging uphill climb as you leave the valley floor behind. The trail tests your endurance, but rewards you at every turn with breathtaking, panoramic viewpoints over the terraced amphitheaters below. Arrive at a pleasant, breezy spot on the mountain ridge to rest your legs and enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by sweeping nature views.

13:00 Resume your trek as the trail levels out into an easier, more gentle gradient. While the physical demand decreases, the scenery grows even more spectacular. You will walk through pristine landscapes, moving higher into the alpine zone where cooler air sweeps through the pine-dotted ridges and high valleys.

17:00 Arrive at Seo My Ty Village, a remote and beautifully isolated settlement of the Black H’mong people, famous for hosting the highest artificial lake in Vietnam. Check into your rustic local homestay and soak in the tranquil mountain atmosphere. Settle into your room and take a relaxing stroll near the water as the mist starts to roll over the lake.

18:30 Gather around the table for a hearty, home-cooked traditional dinner featuring fresh highland ingredients prepared by your hosts. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in the quiet, cool mountain air to recharge for the next day.

You will navigate stunning, hidden rice paddies and cross weathered, old suspension bridges over rushing rivers. The trail soon narrows as you dive beneath the thick canopy of the Hoang Lien rainforest, following small singletracks winding through dense jungle foliage.

12:00 Arrive at Den Thang Village, a beautifully secluded outpost inhabited by the Black H’mong people. Depending on the weather, a fresh, energy-packed lunch will be served either at a scenic spot right beside a mountain river or inside a local village school, offering a unique glimpse into the lives of the highland children.

13:00 Resume your journey with a much more physically demanding afternoon session. The trek becomes significantly more challenging as you face narrow, rugged footpaths that plunge up and down through the steep mountain folds. This technical terrain requires high concentration and steady footing as you navigate slippery roots and rocky gaps deep in the backcountry.

16:30 Arrive at Ta Trung Ho Village, a deeply isolated settlement home to the Red Dao community, nestled at the foot of the mountains. Check into your local family house. This remote overnight stay is made exceptionally special by the legendary, warm hospitality of the Red Dao people.
