ITINERARY
Day 1: Sapa - Tavan - Seo My Ty

07:30 Meet your tour guide and driver at your hotel in Sapa. Take this time for a brief trip briefing, gear check, and to ensure all your luggage for the trek is ready.

08:00 Board our comfort vehicle for a scenic drive heading south, descending along the winding roads that overlook the vast Muong Hoa Valley. Arrive at Ta Van Village—the homeland of the Giay community—where you will lace up your boots and officially begin your trekking expedition.

12:00 The morning session features a steady, challenging uphill climb as you leave the valley floor behind. The trail tests your endurance, but rewards you at every turn with breathtaking, panoramic viewpoints over the terraced amphitheaters below. Arrive at a pleasant, breezy spot on the mountain ridge to rest your legs and enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by sweeping nature views.

13:00 Resume your trek as the trail levels out into an easier, more gentle gradient. While the physical demand decreases, the scenery grows even more spectacular. You will walk through pristine landscapes, moving higher into the alpine zone where cooler air sweeps through the pine-dotted ridges and high valleys.

17:00 Arrive at Seo My Ty Village, a remote and beautifully isolated settlement of the Black H’mong people, famous for hosting the highest artificial lake in Vietnam. Check into your rustic local homestay and soak in the tranquil mountain atmosphere. Settle into your room and take a relaxing stroll near the water as the mist starts to roll over the lake.

18:30 Gather around the table for a hearty, home-cooked traditional dinner featuring fresh highland ingredients prepared by your hosts. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in the quiet, cool mountain air to recharge for the next day.

08:00 Bid farewell to your hosts and start your trek. Today’s route leads you away from the lake and deep into pristine territory. You will navigate stunning, hidden rice paddies and cross weathered, old suspension bridges over rushing rivers. The trail soon narrows as you dive beneath the thick canopy of the Hoang Lien rainforest, following small singletracks winding through dense jungle foliage.

12:00 Arrive at Den Thang Village, a beautifully secluded outpost inhabited by the Black H’mong people. Depending on the weather, a fresh, energy-packed lunch will be served either at a scenic spot right beside a mountain river or inside a local village school, offering a unique glimpse into the lives of the highland children.

13:00 Resume your journey with a much more physically demanding afternoon session. The trek becomes significantly more challenging as you face narrow, rugged footpaths that plunge up and down through the steep mountain folds. This technical terrain requires high concentration and steady footing as you navigate slippery roots and rocky gaps deep in the backcountry.

This remote overnight stay is made exceptionally special by the legendary, warm hospitality of the Red Dao people. 08:00 Lace up your boots and step onto the trail, tracking along the outer fringes of the pristine Hoang Lien National Park rainforest. As you navigate the path, look up to admire the towering ridges of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, dominated by the majestic, distant silhouette of Mount Fansipan. The morning journey challenges your endurance with a steady, scenic climb up toward Nam Toong Village, a beautifully isolated hilltop settlement inhabited by the Red Dao people.

12:00 Arrive at Nam Toong Village just in time for midday. A fresh, energy-rich lunch will be prepared and served in the welcoming environment of the local village school, providing a heartwarming, authentic opportunity to observe highland community life and see the vibrant local children in their native element.

13:00 Resume your trek with a long, panoramic descent, leaving the high mountain ridges behind as you drop down into the lower valley basin. The trail leads you first to My Son Village, home to the Xa Pho ethnic minority—one of the smallest, most reclusive, and traditionally preserved cultural groups in Northern Vietnam, famous for their distinct geometric embroidery. After a fascinating glimpse into their unique way of life, continue on a gentle, flat walk along the valley floor to Thanh Phu Village, a prosperous, scenic settlement of the Tay people.

16:30 Arrive at Thanh Phu Village and check into a beautiful, spacious, traditional Tay stilt house that will serve as your homestay for the night.

10:00 Cross the river to the opposite bank and immediately gear up for the final physical challenge of the trip. The trail transforms into a narrower, more technical singletrack that climbs steadily for about 2.5 hours. Follow this winding path as it cuts through the foothills, requiring steady pacing but offering excellent vantage points over the river system below.
