Bach Moc Luong Tu is a mountain in the Ky Quan San range located between Sin Suoi Ho commune (Phong Tho, Lai Chau) and Sang Ma Sao (Bat Xat, Lao Cai). Bach Moc Luong Tu is one of the five highest peaks in Vietnam and is the dream destination of every trekker. This climbing route is quite challenging because of its high altitude and rugged terrain, but the rewards for those who conquer the BMLT are priceless. This place has the most beautiful sea of ​​clouds in the Northwest and magical mountain and forest landscapes like a fairyland.

ITINERARY
1st night: Ha Noi – Sa Pa (combined tour departing Thursday evening each week)

22:00 - Arriving at the bus office. We will travel to SaPa by sleeper bus. After about 45 to 50 minutes from the bus station, we will reach Noi Bai Airport to pick up those who registered to be collected at this location.

* Dinner is not included tonight.

 

1st day: Sapa – Sang Ma Sao - Muoi Mountain

05:00 - Arriving in Sa Pa, we will disembark to acclimatize to the highland climate. Moving to the breakfast point and place for personal hygiene. Here, you can leave unnecessary items for the mountain climbing journey (like clean clothes to change into after descending).

07:00 - Boarding the bus to the starting point of the climb at Ky Quan San village (Sang Ma Sao commune), approximately 60 km from Sa Pa. On the way, we will enjoy the breathtaking and majestic scenery of mountains and winding passes.

09:00 - Arriving at Ky Quan San village, gathering with the H'Mong ethnic porter team. Starting the journey to conquer the summit of Bach Moc Luong Tu.

12:00 - We will stop along the way to rest and have lunch, replenishing our energy for the afternoon journey.

17:30 - Arriving at the overnight camp at an altitude of 2100m, just as the sunset begins. We will store our belongings and attend to personal hygiene. The remaining time can be spent resting, helping the porter team prepare dinner, or freely strolling and admiring the enchanting sunset at the overnight camp.

18:30 - Having dinner and socializing by the campfire. If the weather is nice, we can enjoy the starry night sky in the quiet atmosphere of the mountains and forests. Staying overnight in a wooden shed.

2nd day: Overnight camp – Summit of BMLT (3046m) - Overnight shed

05:00 - Waking up early for breakfast. We will enjoy coffee or warm ginger tea before heading to the summit.

07:00 - Starting the final climb to reach the BMLT summit. We will leave personal items at the camp, only bringing essential items to the peak. Along the way, we will pass the most beautiful cloud viewing point of the journey at an altitude of 2800m.

12:00 - Reaching the summit of BMLT, taking a break, taking photos, and enjoying the scenery from the mountain top. After lunch at the summit, we will return to the overnight camp.

17:00 - Arriving back at the overnight camp. As in the previous evening, we can rest or assist the porter team in preparing dinner or freely stroll and enjoy the enchanting sunset at the overnight camp.

18:30 - Having dinner and socializing by the campfire. Staying overnight in a wooden hut.

3rd day: Overnight shed - Sapa - Ha Noi

05:00 - Waking up early for breakfast and catching the sunrise.

07:30 - Enjoying the stunning sea of clouds over Muoi mountain.

08:00 - We pack our personal belongings and begin the descent, returning to the starting point at Ky Quan San village.

12:45 - Have a light lunch and rest before boarding the bus back to Sa Pa.

16:00 - Arriving in Sa Pa, we will take a herbal bath with the Dao people, soaking in a warm water tub, relaxing after the challenging journey to conquer BMLT.

19:00 - Having dinner at a local restaurant featuring Sa Pa specialties. Let’s raise a glass of sweet apple wine to celebrate the success of the trip.

23:00 - Boarding the sleeper bus to return to Hanoi. Around 04:30 the next morning, the bus will arrive at My Đinh bus station. End of the tour.

  • ID card or Passport

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Notes on the Trek Route

  • This is a multi-day trek with quite challenging terrain among the 10 highest peaks in Vietnam. If you have never climbed a mountain before or have little experience with sports, it is advisable to prepare your physical fitness before the trip (see the section on Suggested Fitness Preparation). 
  • We recommends that you carry a backpack of about 10L and limit the weight to no more than 2kg, consisting of essential items for climbing such as a wallet, phone, and drinking water. Your personal belongings, such as clothes for changing at the campsite and daily drinking water, as well as food for meals on the mountain, will be carried by porters.

2. Sleeping on the Mountain

  • We will sleep in a wooden hut at Muoi Mountain for 02 nights. There are toilets and showers available. During sleep, you will be provided with an inflatable mattress or a sleeping pad, and a blanket or sleeping bag.

3. Food & Drinks

  • Dinner on the mountain will be hot meals prepared by the porter team. Breakfast will consist of fried rice, instant noodles, or crepes. Lunch is usually cold food prepared in advance. 
  • Drinking water on the mountain will be sourced by the porter team, who will boil spring water for disinfection. Participants should bring a water bottle to collect water for daily use. 
  • There will be hot tea and coffee available before and after each meal at the overnight campsite.

4. Medical assistance

  • If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip. 
  • The tour guide will carry a basic first aid kit. If you have any medical problems that require medication, you should bring your own medication.
