ITINERARY
1st day: Ha Noi – Cho Ra – Ba Be – Camping Area

06:30 - Departing for Bac Kan. Along the way, we will stop for a break in Thai Nguyen.

12:00 - Having lunch in Cho Ra town.

13:00 - Boarding the vehicle to the Bo Luom boat dock. This is where we will start paddling SUP downstream along the Nang River to Puong Cave and Ba Be Lake. The Nang River is quite narrow with a strong current. The scenery along the river is diverse and majestic, with many sections running along steep cliffs and others opening up to narrow valleys or cornfields. The most attractive highlight is when we paddle through Puong Cave, a gigantic cave that the river flows through. With its strong current and us going downstream, we won't exert ourselves much despite the considerable paddling distance.

15:30 - After exiting Puong Cave, we will take a break on a small island in the river to enjoy Relax Time*, including fruits and cold drinks, amidst the beautiful natural scenery. We will continue paddling to the confluence of the Nang River and Ba Be Lake.

We will board a motorboat and head into the lake. In the summer, the boat will stop so we can enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Ba Be. Our stop today will be at the camping area, staying at right side of the lake and not far from the Pac Ngoi village. Upon arriving at the camping area, we will enjoy a welcome drink and receive our tents. After showering and resting, we will have dinner.

19:00 - Having dinner at the campsite. After a delicious dinner at the camping area, we will enjoy a joyful moment around the campfire with friends before going to sleep.

* Meals included: Lunch, Dinner

* Relax Time is organized at different locations depending on the season's weather.

2nd day: Camping Area – Ao Tien – Dau Dang Waterfall – Homestay

07:30 - Having breakfast at the camping area.

08:30 - After breakfast, we will begin paddling to explore Ba Be Lake. Following the cliff, we will reach An Ma Island and then continue paddling to Ao Tien.

12:00 - Having a picnic lunch at Tien pond before paddling back to the Nang River. This afternoon, we will conquer the most beautiful and wildest stretch of the Nang River with its majestic high cliffs. After about an hour of paddling on the river, we will reach Dau Dang Waterfall. We will leave the SUPs at the dock and walk about 1 km to the waterfall. Take a break and take photos at Dau Dang Waterfall before returning to the dock. We will board the motorboat and return to Ba Be Lake. If time allows, we will swim freely in the crystal-clear waters of Ba Be.

16:30 - The motorboat will take us to Pac Ngoi village, where we will have dinner and spend the night at a homestay in the village.

18:30 - Having dinner. Staying overnight at the homestay.

* Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

3rd day: Homestay – Ba Be National Park Trekking – Return to Ha Noi

07:30 - Having breakfast at the homestay.

08:30 - After breakfast, we will walk through Pac Ngoi village and trek through the forest for about 2.5 hours to reach An Ma Island. This trek is quite easy as the elevation is not high, and most of the time we will be walking along a trail that is not too rugged. At the end of the trek, we will arrive at An Ma Island, the largest island on Ba Be Lake. On the island, there is the sacred An Ma Temple. We will visit An Ma Temple and then paddle SUP to the lunch spot on the opposite shore of Ba Be Lake.

11:30 - Taking a shower, changing clothes, and having lunch at the restaurant before moving to the pickup point to board the vehicle back to Hanoi. We will arrive in Hanoi around 19:00. End of the wonderful adventure.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Notes on the SUP & Trek Route

  • On the first day, we will paddle about 8 km from the Boc Luom wharf to the river junction where the Nang River meets Ba Be Lake. The entire paddle is downstream with a fairly fast current. Physical fitness is not an issue; however, for those who do not have much experience paddling SUP in strong currents, it may be a bit concerning at first. You need to wear a life jacket, attach a leash, and should not stand on the SUP right from the starting point. After paddling about 1-2 km and feeling more comfortable with the water, you can start standing up to paddle.
  • While paddling on the river, you need to pay attention to avoiding areas with swift currents or obstacles like branches and stones. Please note, if you can swim and have considerable paddling experience, you may take off your life jacket and secure it on the SUP, but you must not remove the leash.
  • Our trekking route is quite gentle with a short walking time, easy trails, and no significant elevation gain. However, you still need to have suitable sports or walking shoes for a safe and comfortable hike in the forest.

2. Food & Drink

  • Lunches at the camping area and local restaurants feature a variety of dishes with a strong local flavor. Lunch and dinner mainly consist of dishes made from fish, chicken, pork, and seasonal vegetables. Breakfast at the camping area typically includes chicken vermicelli, rib noodle soup, or instant noodles with eggs.
  • To ensure energy for participants, we will provide specialized energy bars at a rate of 2 bars per person per day.
  • Drinking water during the trek will be sourced from spring water, boiled by the porter team to ensure sanitation. Participants are advised to bring their own water bottles for daily use.
  • Hot tea and coffee will be available before and after each meal at the overnight campsite.

3. Protecting the environment together

  • We supports and practices Leave No Trace principles in each program and outdoor activities itself. We also encourage our customers and partners to apply to Leave No Trace principles when traveling in the outdoor environment. See details about the Leave No Trace tại đây
  • In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, we encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.
  • On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination.

4. Medical assistance

  • If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip.
  • We only provide first aid during the tour and do not provide any oral medication so if you have any health problems that require precautionary medication please bring your own.
