ITINERARY
1st day: Ha Noi - Cho Ra - Ba Be - Camping

06:30 - Departing for Bac Kan. On the way, we will stop for a break in Thai Nguyen.

12:00 - Arriving at Ra market and having lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will take a short drive to the boat dock at Boc Luom. This is where we will start paddling SUP down the Nang River to reach Puong Cave and Ba Be Lake. The Nang River is quite narrow with a strong current. The scenery along the river is diverse and magnificent, with many sections flowing past steep cliffs, while other areas open up to narrow valleys or corn fields. The most exciting highlight is when we paddle through Puong Cave, a giant cave that the river flows through. Thanks to the strong current and paddling downstream, we won’t exert ourselves too much, even though the distance paddled is considerable.

After exiting Puong Cave, we will stop at a small island in the river to enjoy Chill Time, consisting of fruits and cold drinks, amid the beautiful natural surroundings. We will continue paddling to the confluence of the Nang River and Ba Be Lake. Here, we will board a motorboat to enter the lake. In summer, the boat will stop so we can enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Ba Be Lake, which is always refreshing. Our stop today will be at the camping area, staying at the right side of the lake, not far from Pac Ngoi village. Upon arrival at the camping site, we will enjoy a welcome drink and receive our tents. After freshening up, we can relax before dinner.

18:30 - Having dinner at the campsite. After a delicious meal at the camping area, we will enjoy a fun time around the campfire with friends before going to sleep.

* Meals included: Lunch, Dinner

2nd day: Ba Be - Tham Phay - Ha Noi

06:30 - Having breakfast at the camping area.

07:30 - Packing up and walking to the pick-up point. We will take a 20-minute drive to the starting point. The guide will provide safety instructions and supply the necessary equipment.

08:30 - Starting the journey through the forest to explore Tham Phay Cave. The route is quite interesting, featuring slopes, winding paths, and valleys.

09:30 - Arriving at the cave entrance. You will explore the dome ceiling, rock layers, and unique beauties for about 4 hours, experiencing the mystery of this cave. Tham Phay Cave has two branches of underground rivers, creating a unique journey where you will navigate through narrow passages, cross steep mountains, and some deep pits, giving you the opportunity to take beautiful photos. Vegetation and algae cover much of the cave, forming calcite. The cave expands significantly as you go further beyond the initial entrance, continuing to offer excellent photo opportunities.

11:30 - Having lunch in the cave before continuing to explore the second route of the cave system, which features magnificent stalagmites that are millions of years old.

12:30 - Coming back to the cave entrance and heading back to the initial pick-up point. Trekking to the pick-up point.

13:30 - Coming back to Ba Be to freshen up and change before boarding the bus back to Hanoi.

15:00 - Departing for Hanoi. The program ends upon arrival in Hanoi.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Notes on the SUP Route

  • On the first day, we will paddle about 8 km from the Boc Luom wharf to the confluence where the Nang River meets Ba Be Lake. This entire paddle is downstream with a fairly rapid current. Physical fitness is not an issue; however, for those who do not have much experience paddling on strong currents, you may feel a bit anxious at first. You need to wear a life jacket, attach the leash, and you should not stand on the SUP right from the starting point. After paddling about 1-2 km and feeling more comfortable with the water, you can start standing and paddling.
  • While paddling on the river, you need to pay attention and avoid areas with swift currents or obstacles like branches and rocks. Please note, if you know how to swim and have plenty of paddling experience, you may remove your life jacket and tie it to the SUP, but you must never remove the leash.
  • Our trekking route is quite easy with a short walking duration, an easy trail, and no significant elevation. However, you still need to wear appropriate sports or hiking shoes to ensure a safe and comfortable walk in the forest.

2. Notes on the Tham Phay Cave Exploration

  • We will explore Tham Phay Cave for about 4 hours. Inside the cave, there will be sections where you have to wade through water with depths of up to 1.2 meters. The cave's terrain is not too difficult, and there is no need for specialized equipment like climbing gear.
  • We will provide customers with high-quality helmets and professional headlamps. Additionally, we will supply dry bags for customers to store essential items during the cave exploration.

3. Food & Drinks

  • Lunch will be served at the camping site and local restaurants with a diverse menu featuring many "local flavors." Lunch and dinner mainly consist of dishes made from fish, chicken, pork, and seasonal vegetables. Breakfast at the camping site usually includes chicken vermicelli, pork rib noodles, or instant noodles with eggs.
  • If you have dietary restrictions or are vegetarian, please inform the our organizers in advance so we can prepare suitable food for you. In cases where you have special dietary requirements that we cannot accommodate (for health, medical, or religious reasons), we suggest that you prepare your own food to bring along.
  • Drinking water will be provided daily. We encourages customers to minimize the use of single-use plastic and nylon products; therefore, we recommend that you bring a reusable water bottle to refill from the larger containers we provide.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not allowed while paddling on SUP or kayak, or during trekking. Alcohol and soft drinks are not included in the meals.

4. Protecting the environment together

  • We supports and practices Leave No Trace principles in each program and outdoor activities itself. We also encourage our customers and partners to apply to Leave No Trace principles when traveling in the outdoor environment. See details about the Leave No Trace tại đây
  • In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, we encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.
  • On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination.

5. Medical assistance

  • If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip.
  • We only provide first aid during the tour and do not provide any oral medication so if you have any health problems that require precautionary medication please bring your own.
