Upon arrival at Lao Cai Railway Station, meet your local guide and driver, then transfer to Muong Khuong. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the road as the route heads into the mountain district. Official district information notes that Muong Khuong Town lies close to the Vietnam–China border and is around 50 km from Lao Cai City.
Arrive at Muong Khuong Market, located in a small border town. Here, different ethnic communities such as the Flower H’mong, Tu Di, Tay, and Giay come to buy and sell local products including fruit, vegetables, domestic animals, clothing, and everyday goods. Lao Cai tourism sources describe Muong Khuong Market as one of the attractive weekend highland markets in the province.
Spend the whole morning exploring the market and enjoying its local atmosphere before having lunch at a nearby restaurant.
In the afternoon, take a short walk to a Tay village. Stop at a local house to talk with villagers and gain a better understanding of their daily life, customs, and traditions.
After the visit, board the vehicle and return to Lao Cai. End of the tour.
