Upon arrival at Lao Cai Railway Station, meet your local guide and driver, then transfer to Muong Hum, located in Bat Xat District. The market is open only on Sunday and is one of Lao Cai’s notable highland markets, where many ethnic communities come together to buy, sell, and socialize.
Spend the whole morning exploring Muong Hum Market, where local people sell homemade products such as vegetables, fruits, and domestic animals. You may see members of the Ha Nhi, Phu La, Tu Di, Black Dao, Giay, and Red H’mong communities in their traditional dress. Highland markets like Muong Hum are also recognized by Vietnam’s tourism authority as part of Lao Cai’s distinctive ethnic and cultural tourism experience.
After the market visit, have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Muong Vi Cave if weather conditions allow. The cave stretches for a long distance and is known for its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Recent tourism coverage describes the Muong Vi cave complex in Bat Xat as a scenic natural attraction with striking limestone formations.
After the visit, return by vehicle to Lao Cai. End of the tour.
