ITINERARY
Day 1: Sapa - Tavan - Seomity

Meet your local guide and driver at your hotel in Sapa, then travel south by car toward Muong Hoa Valley. The trek begins from Ta Van Village, home to the Giay people. Ta Van is widely known as one of the classic trekking gateways in the Sapa area.

The first day’s trek is mostly uphill. Along the way, each rest stop offers beautiful views over the valley. Before noon, stop at a pleasant spot for lunch.

After lunch, the route becomes easier in the afternoon, while the scenery grows even more beautiful. Arrive at Seo My Ty Village, home to the Black H’mong people, in the late afternoon. Seo My Ty is known in Lao Cai tourism materials as a high-elevation area in the core zone of Hoang Lien National Park, associated with dramatic mountain scenery and lake landscapes.

Day 2: Seomity – Den Thang - Ta Trung Ho

After breakfast, continue trekking through beautiful rice terraces and across old suspension bridges. The trail follows small forest paths through rainforest scenery.

Reach Den Thang Village of the Black H’mong around midday. Lunch will be served either near a river or at a local school, depending on the weather.

In the afternoon, the trek becomes more challenging, with narrow footpaths going up and down through the mountains. Arrive at Ta Trung Ho Village, home to the Red Dao people, where the night will be spent in a local house. Trekking descriptions from Sapa tourism sources also identify the wider Sapa trekking region as a mix of ethnic villages, forest trails, and community-based tourism experiences.

Day 3: Ta Trung Ho – Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa

Today you are trekking along the fringe of the rainforest beneath the Hoang Lien Son Range, the mountain system that includes Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina.

Start the day by climbing to Nam Toong Village, a village of the Red Dao people. Lunch will be prepared at a local school.

In the afternoon, before descending to Ban Ho, stop by a waterfall for a short break and a chance to refresh. Continue downhill to Ban Ho Village, one of Sapa’s well-known trekking destinations. At Ban Ho, there may be time for a swim in the river before meeting the car for the transfer back to Sapa. Ban Ho is also listed among Lao Cai’s recognized community tourism and trekking areas.
