We begin the journey with a short drive south from Sapa toward Muong Hoa Valley, one of the area’s best-known valleys for terraced fields and village trekking. The route Muong Hoa – Lao Chai – Ta Van is also listed among Sapa’s notable hiking routes by Vietnam’s tourism site.
From there, we start walking downhill into the valley, the largest terraced rice field area around Sapa. Along the way, the guide can share interesting information about rice cultivation. If you visit between May and October, you may also see local people planting or harvesting, one of the most important parts of daily life in the valley.
The walk takes us from Lao Chai Village, home to the Black H’mong community, to Ta Van Village, which sits in the heart of Muong Hoa Valley and is especially associated with the Giay people. From higher points on the route, you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley stretching below.
After visiting Ta Van, the vehicle will take you back to Sapa. End of the trip.
