ITINERARY
Sapa – Muong Hoa Valley – Ancient Rock Field – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa

08:00 [or 13:30] The journey begins with a scenic drive south from Sapa toward the majestic Muong Hoa Valley, home to the largest and most spectacular terraced rice fields in the region.

Your trek starts near the famous ancient rock field, a fascinating archaeological site first documented by a French researcher in 1925. This area features hundreds of mystifying carved boulders scattered across the Hau Thao and Ta Van communes, whose enigmatic symbols have captivated local and international researchers for decades.

After spending time unraveling the mysteries of the rock field, follow a scenic dirt trail descending toward a rustic rattan bridge, a hidden waterfall, and Giang Ta Chai Village, a traditional settlement of the Red Dao people. This portion of the trek treats you to sweeping views of the Muong Hoa Valley and offers an intimate look into local heritage with a visit to an authentic Red Dao home.

The journey then continues toward Su Pan Village, home to the resilient Black H’mong people, before a gentle climb brings you up to the main road where your vehicle will be waiting for a comfortable transfer back to Sapa.
