Muong Khuong market is located in the center of Muong Khuong District, Lao Cai Province. The market is open every Sunday. You will have the opportunity to meet some beautiful ethnic minorities who live only in the area such as the Tu Di, the Pa Gi and also some Tay and Giay. Another highlight is a short walk to a Tay village that is surrounded by beautiful rice paddy terraces and waterfall.

ITINERARY

Upon arrival at Lao Cai railway station, you will be met up by local guide and driver then transferred to Muong Khuong. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and scenery along the road. The market locates inside a small border town, which is frequented by Flower Hmong, Tu Di, Tay and Giay ethnic minorities. They come to buy and sell local products such as fruit, vegetable, domestic animal, clothes... After spending the whole morning exploring the market, we will have lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will have a short walk a Tay village. Stop by a house to talk with local people to understand a bit more their daily life, their culture and traditions. Then we get back on our vehicle our the journey back to Lao Cai. End of tour.

Approx: 5 hours driving/ 0.5-hour walking/ 1-hour lunch
